Following the recent passing of Germany’s most revered philosopher and social theorists Jürgen Habermas in March 2026, Stephan Trüby shines his light on Habermas most relevant contributions on architecture both in theory and design. Trüby not only expands on Habermas as a theorist and his thinking on the social conditions of architecture, but also as a client for the carefully designed home in Starnberg where he lived with his wife Ute, shown here to some degree against his own wishes: “No book while we are alive!”
